Video Shoot

Merry Christmas!
This last weekend I was up in Minneapolis and did a little gorilla video shoot.

I shot the green screen against a dark green wall like with two old school shop lights, so it’s not perfect. The key freaked out a little bit, there is some strange color-shifting going on, and a mop gaffers taped on to a music stand served as light stand. I guess it pretty good for no budget TV.  I've included a link to some gaffers tape on the left if anyone is looking for that perfect Christmas gift for the videographer on a budget.

It was a blast working with Maxaphone and I hope to get a couple other video projects up and running before the Christmas break is over.

Thanks for checking out my blog.

Enjoy the video,
MashCarl

Dead Week

My roommate snapped this photo of me diligently studying.  I've got one paper down, now all that stands between me and break is a 12 page paper and three tests.  Can't be done soon enough.

New York

Here are a few of my photos from my trip to New York City.  It was a hell of a week. I shot a bunch of photos, purchased a new lens and came down with pneumonia.

While the new full body scanners were up at the airport, I somehow missed out on the experience.  Perhaps not having a beard that is, in the words of Lowell Whitman, like “walking around with two middle fingers to the world” has some benefits… hopefully the beard grows back soon.

Thanks for checking out the blog.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Andy

State Cyclocross

Hello,
Yesterday I headed to my second to the last cyclocross event of the year. It was a little chilly and for the most part the snow/rain held out. The worst part of the season ending is I don’t know what I’ll shot photos of for the rest of the year.

I’m happy with the imagery for the most part. Shooting with overcast skies makes everything look a little flat. However, I really like the photo of Matt to the left.

On a side note, if anyone is interested in purchasing me a new computer I will gladly accept. My MacBook is still cranking, but processing raw imagery on it is BRUTAL.

Thanks for checking out my blog,
Andy

Spooky 'Cross 2010

Here are my photos from Spooky 'Cross 2010 at the Living History Farms.  I’ve got three tests this week so I was only there for about two races. Oh well it was a nice break from the educational grind.

More Cyclocross

Here are some photos from the cyclocross event in Cedar Falls. I shot some video too. Could be a couple of days before that’s up. Thanks for checking out the blog.

Oakley Night Cap Cross

Last night I shot the Oakley Night Cap Cross, my first cyclocross race.  Beer and a short looped track made the event great for spectators and I was pretty happy with some of the photos I snagged.  It was a good night overall, but I did forgot some gear at the bar so I’ll be making the trip back to Des Moines this afternoon.

I posted my five favorites here, and there will be some other nice ones posted on the Skunk River Cycles’ facebook page.  You should like them, and frequent them if you don’t already.  Spooky ‘cross is the 30th and 31st if you are going to be in the Des Moines area check it out.
